Apprentice Electrician

The Apprentice Electrician is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems under the guidance and supervision of a journeyman electrician or supervisor. This role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience and develop skills necessary for a successful career as an electrician.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assisting in Electrical Installations:

- Assist in the installation of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with electrical codes and specifications.

- Pull and route electrical cables and wires through conduits and other designated pathways.

- Mount electrical panels, switchgear, and distribution boards as directed.

- Aid in the installation and connection of electrical components, such as switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures.

2. Electrical Maintenance and Repair:

- Assist in troubleshooting electrical systems, identifying faults, and assisting in the repair or replacement of defective components.

- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning electrical equipment and inspecting wiring for signs of damage or wear.

- Assist in testing and commissioning electrical systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with regulations.

- Collaborate with journeyman electricians or supervisors to resolve electrical issues or complete repair tasks.

3. Safety and Compliance:

- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

- Follow electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure safe and compliant work practices.

- Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to supervisors immediately.

- Participate in safety training programs and actively contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time sheets, work orders, and material usage.

- Complete documentation related to inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.

- Report any deficiencies, discrepancies, or concerns to supervisors in a timely manner.

5. Learning and Professional Development:

- Attend and actively participate in apprenticeship training programs, workshops, and on-the-job training provided by the company or trade organizations.

- Seek opportunities to expand knowledge and skills related to electrical systems, codes, and emerging technologies.

- Follow instructions and guidance provided by journeyman electricians or supervisors to enhance learning and proficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Great Attitude

- Enrolled in an electrical apprenticeship program or willingness to enroll in one. (Through All Star)

- Basic knowledge of hand tools

- Ability to effectively use hand and power tools commonly used in electrical installations and repairs.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.

- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

- Physical stamina and ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as bending, kneeling, and lifting heavy objects.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites as required.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
