Our client is a company operating a marketplace for consumers, sellers, and content creators. It offers merchandise and content purchased for resale from vendors and those offered by thirdparty sellers.
Job Title: Applied Scientist II
Duration: 5 Months

Job Description:
  • Applied scientists are specialists with deep expertise in areas such as machine learning, speech recognition, natural language processing, computer vision, knowledge acquisition, etc.
  • They apply scientific principles in their area of expertise and related fields to: (a) assess the feasibility and timeline of new initiatives requiring significant inventions, and (b) develop new algorithms or enhance existing algorithms for significantly improving the customer experience/impact.
  • They are externally aware of the state-of-the-art in their respective field of expertise and are constantly focused on advancing the state-of-the-art for improving Client's products and services.

Story Behind the Need Business Group & Key Projects

Please describe the team the TEMP will be joining. What projects do they work on? What is the team culture like?
  • Lead scoring, machine learning
  • multiple milestones to support region to enable capability MLM to find potential customers (marketing stakeholders, internals sales team)
  • Team, 2 BIE, 3 fulltime employees (strategy analytics team shared service)

  • 2 projects are currently at risk given her absence: a) MRC GCR MAL-MI prioritization; b) CS GLBL MQL ML modeling.
Typical Day in the Role:
What will a typical day in the life of this role look like once the TEMP is ramped up?
  • Wiki meetings, stand up process overview on what other projects that are going on, team meetings weekly
  • 1:1 meeting
  • Connect with business team, meeting stakeholder's requirements to include in model design, pulling data with internal communication with BI, then try to make a prototype of model
