H.B. Fuller's Flexible Packaging division has an immediate need for a Technical Solutions Applications Engineer resource for North America. The candidate should have working knowledge of analytical techniques to analyze and troubleshoot customer samples. The position also requires supporting pilot line trials and external customer trials. The position requires a candidate with a can-do attitude and ability to handle multiple demands.
Career opportunities exist to grow into a Field Technical Service position to interface directly with key accounts.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist customers in resolving problems with their lamination operations and end-use performance.
- Oversee timely resolutions of Customer Complaints.
- Troubleshoot new & existing packaging lamination problems involving materials & processes. Troubleshoot customer issues using industry-standard analytical techniques, including FT-IR, GC/MS, Microscopy, and more.
- Provide creative, timely & cost-efficient solutions.
- Manage technical support and trial material evaluations on internal and customer laminating / coating equipment to evaluate developmental products and provide samples for customers.
- Interface with Management and Sales to support account initiatives.
- Develop relationships with current and potential customers to promote H.B. Fuller products to meet customers' specific product needs.
- Recommend products based on end-user requirements and optimal cost. Interface with the Regulatory Group to provide required documents.
- Collaborate with Product Development regarding product modifications needed to meet customers' product specifications.
- Support Marketing efforts to promote products, including webinars, training seminars, etc.
- Develop training materials and conduct on-site seminars with customer operators, engineers, and non-technical managerial staff.
- Develop relationships with co-suppliers and collaborate to anticipate future customer needs.
- Collaborate with other H.B. Fuller Technical Service and Sales teams to leverage adjacencies.
Minimum Requirements:
- B.S. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related technology
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Flexible Packaging or a related manufacturing/engineering capacity.
- Project Management of projects
- Computer Skills: The candidate should be knowledgeable in the use of software including Microsoft Office
- Ability to present root cause analyses and solutions
- Bilingual beneficial
- Travel: up to 35%
