Job Summary and Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY 

The Application Portfolio Management (APM) Solutions Leaders is a subject matter expert on the APM Process and the tools used to execute the process. The role works with Capability Owners, APM teams, Service Management Organization, architecture, security and other IT teams to ensure each designated Application Portfolio is identified, reviewed, documented, and rationalized. In addition, the role identifies and articulates enhancements, modifications, and optimization recommendations to the APM AVP regarding processes and tools to provide a simplified and accelerated process that supports our customers. This role requires strong communication skills and a high level of situational confidence. The role must display executive presence, confidence, and critical thinking for APM transformation. The role develops a trusted advisor relationship with key stakeholders including capability owners, business leadership, IT leaders, and other department professionals. This role will assist the execution of APM leaders with ensuring the organization receives maximum value from its investment in applications, manages technology and security risk, delivers application services that meet the needs of the portfolio, adapts to rapid business needs and changes, and identify reduction of redundant and under-utilized applications.

Duties Include:

• Documenting past, present, and future applications deployed or planned to be, via Capability Models, architecture tools, and visual models as directed.

• Assist Capability Owners and their teams in understanding, developing and updating capability models. Ensure Capability Owners understand and execute operational management, life-cycle planning, and support application governance.

• Identify and/or automate changes to application service lifecycles.

• Organize applications according to business capabilities, contract lifecycles, technical and business risk.

• Arrange IT components into technology stacks.

• Grade the technical and functional value of applications. Provide application governance recommendations based upon industry standards, HCA standards, security controls, and other policies.

• Manage and support a portfolio of applications and technology solutions. Make recommendations to Capability Owners, Business Owners, and Product Owners on retiring legacy applications, market best applications, and reduction of redundant applications.

• Communicate verbally and in writing to senior executives and their designees on the management, update, and design of their portfolio to include current state and future state.

• Develop and implement enterprise-wide application strategies and roadmaps.

• Support and provide recommendations to Capability, Business and Technical Owners on the evaluation, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide applications.

• Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members.

• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance the capability of enterprise applications.

• All other duties as assigned

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Strong knowledge of the IT service management industry

• Strong knowledge of Information Protection Cyber Risk Management to include Third Party Risk Management.

• Provides organizational, communication, business analysis, project management, and problem-solving skills

• Champions Lean Six Sigma best practices.

• Understands Capability Modeling and architecture tools for APM.

• Continually seeks to improve technical, consulting, and professional skills by attending classes and keeping up-to-date on industry standards.

• Ability to work independently and manage workload prioritization to deliver high quality work products on time with minimal direction.

• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, including the ability to collaborate with personnel at all levels of the enterprise in a succinct, cooperative and effective manner, in a variety of media and formats. Ability to communicate with C-Suite and Senior Executive leaders on their portfolio.

• Strong briefing skills using visuals, graphics and other tools such as PowerPoint.

• Demonstrates conflict management and negotiation skills to consistently achieve “win-win” results.

• High energy, ambitious self-starter with an aptitude for learning and customer focus.

Qualified candidates will have 7+ years of relevant work experience required

Bachelor’s degree preferred

OTHER/SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong knowledge of Service Now or similar service management tool experience; Application Portfolio Management, preferred

• Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts

• Strong knowledge of project management methodology and deliverables

• Strong knowledge and ability to develop Capability Models and architecture views based upon use case analysis and workflow design

• Experience with budgeting and planning

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

• Long periods of sitting at a computer

• Approximately 5% travel
