Capital And Investment Portfolio Manager, Vp

Vice President of Corporate Treasury reporting to the Treasurer. Coordinate enterprise-wide capital, liquidity, interest rate risk, and balance sheet management.  Requires strategic thinking, excellent managerial, analytical, and communication skills.

Position is open to sit any office location within our 12 state footprint in cities like: Memphis, Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami, Nashville, Knoxville, New Orleans, and Birmingham.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Treasurer, ALCO, and Executives, and Board of Directors on enterprise-wide strategic balance sheet management
• Lead capital markets access including unsecured debt, subordinated debt, preferred stock, and common stock issuances & purchases
• Ownership of $11 billion fixed income Investment Portfolio and interconnected policies to direct strategic liquidity risk and interest rate risk management
• Support alternative investments including Bank Owned Life Insurance, SBIC funds, venture funds, EQ2 partnerships, and other CRA qualifying investments
• Co-chair Bank Loan & Deposit Pricing Committee responsible for on-balance sheet product pricing strategies
• Influence enterprise-wide strategy and provide recommendations to executive leadership via ALCO on methods to hedge interest rate risk through on and off-balance sheet instruments
• Ensure ample liquidity and efficiently manage inter-company cash including inter-company lending, dividends, and capital injections
• Support corporate forecast and capital management practices including liquidity risk, interest rate risk, and capital stress testing
• Develop and foster relationships with line of business and product executives to ensure sound understanding of business strategies, profitability, and balance sheet goals
• Constructive engagement with various assurance functions including regulators, risk management, model validation, internal and external audit
• Lead team through promoting environment that is representative of First Horizon’s culture, exercising excellent managerial judgement, effective application of positive reinforcement and constructive criticism, providing compensation recommendations, and the execution of performance management through promotions and terminations where appropriate

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in finance, business administration, or engineering. MBA or CFA preferred.
• 15+ years of related Treasury, FP&A, Finance, and/or Business Line CFO management experience at a regional bank or larger including at least five years in a management leadership role
• Executive level communication and presentation skills
• Knowledgeable of financial markets inclusive of money markets, treasuries, repo funding, and derivatives
• Well-versed in bank regulations and treasury policies and procedures
• Must be open to feedback and new ideas; able to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Dexterity to generate complex financial reports and provide crisp and concise presentations
• Must be proactive, deadline oriented, analytical, and have a strong work ethic
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
