What you'll be doing:
The Application Administrator is responsible for support, architecture, and maintenance of the enterprise application environment. This position is specifically responsible for the application(s) supporting the Drafting and Design department. Responsibilities would encompass day-to-day administration, daily maintenance and optimization tasks and assisting super users, solution developers and systems analysts with data requests and integration activities within the application(s).
  • Assists in the management of all application environments. (Serve as an application functionality and data expert/ Develop scripts and procedures to automate routine tasks/ Perform database activities in conjunction with the infrastructure DBA team/ Provide second tier support on-call rotation to all mission critical production systems)
  • Maintain expert level knowledge of the enterprise applications. These include ESRI (GIS software), Schnieder Electric (fiber management software), AutoCAD & Lode Data (fiber management software).
  • Establish strong relationship with vendor technical support.
  • Safeguard our production systems by implementing the right security policies (least privilege).
  • Assist in new rollouts of applications, conversions, and integrations with other systems.
  • Assist in the application release management process, be the “gatekeeper” and ensure only QUALITY code is released into production
  • Help troubleshoot performance and security problems
  • Define and enforce application standards, best practices, methodologies, processes and procedures
  • Research new technologies to enhance performance, heighten security, ensure uptime, automate common/redundant administrative duties
  • Monitors the IT Ticket Queue for reported bugs and problems and then either addresses them or delegates them to the appropriate team.
  • Responsible for the functions described in this document for small to medium size stand-alone projects or integrated projects.
What you'll need:
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or Information Technology or related field required, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years’ experience
  • Understanding of the application development lifecycle
  • Familiar with application architecture
  • Experience supporting the development and deployment of complex ERP packages
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly ambitious individuals with the desire to go above and beyond
  • Detail-oriented with very strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with little or no supervision
