Appellate Attorney

Position Summary:
This position provides legal counsel to existing clients. The attorney is responsible for conducting legal research, drafting post-trial motions and appellate briefs, and performing oral arguments. The attorney will also will provide trial and litigation support for trial lawyers across the state. This may require arguing in the trial court and attending trial.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements
- Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings, oral arguments, trial and other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior attorneys.
- Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients.
- Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently.
- Maintain client files to ensure up-to-date information is available to other attorneys, paralegals and support staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Competencies:
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Florida Bar Admission
- Judicial clerkship experience or demonstrate strong research, writing, and legal analysis skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess great time management and problem-solving skills.
- Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with others.
- Must meet expectations for billing goals.
