Atrium Health's Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking a full-time Thoracic Surgery Acute Care Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistant to join our growing team at Atrium Health's Cabarrus campus in Concord, NC.
Practice Highlights:
- The practice has 12 cardiac and thoracic surgeons across SHVI and 28 surgical APPs at three sites
- Busy practice averaging 1500 cases a year between cardiac and thoracic services
- The practice performs both inpatient and outpatient procedures and utilizes a closed ICU
- Schedule consists of rotating four, 10-hour dayshift schedule with rotating weekend coverage. Anticipated to work 1 weekend every 3 weeks.
- Perioperative management of cardiac and thoracic patients involving some bedside procedures such as talc pleurodesis, autologous blood patch, TPA instillation, chest tube removal, pericardial drain removal, and wound vac placements.
- Opportunity for significant autonomy with surgeons always available for questions.
Candidate Highlights:
- Physician Assistants: certification from the NCCPA required; Nurse Practitioners: Acute Care NP Certification required.
- Experience in a hospital setting desired.
- No OR responsibilities. No call.
- Must be open to some travel between the 3 sites - Occasional coverage to other sites is required.
