Our company is seeking an experienced API Gateway Platform Lead with a strong background in APIGEE and a proven track record of successfully implementing API gateway solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in API management, a solid understanding of microservices architecture, and hands-on experience in a Unix/Linux system environment. The candidate should also possess proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle databases, and exhibit excellent leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of API gateway platform solutions, with a focus on APIGEE and Layer 7.
- Manage people and stakeholders across multiple regions, ensuring the delivery of business value.
- Translate client requirements into technical designs and provide strategic input into business operations and strategies.
- Demonstrate an agile mindset in engineering capabilities and foster an architectural mindset within the development team.
- Collaborate effectively with a globally distributed development team, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
- Ensure a thorough grasp of IT concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture, and technical standards.
- Exhibit expertise in operating systems (Unix, Linux, Windows), programming languages (Java), databases (Oracle), and API platforms (APIGEE, Layer 7).
- Design, implement, and deploy large-scale, highly available, service-oriented software systems, emphasizing REST and microservices.
- Provide hands-on experience in debugging, maintenance, and support activities related to the API platform.
- Implement and manage APIGW on the cloud, preferably on GCP, and demonstrate proficiency in automation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, MIS, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience working on APIGW products, preferably APIGEE or Layer 7, or both.
- 5+ years with on-premises/cloud implementations and Open-Source Integration Solutions.
- 7+ years of experience working with application and integration middleware.
- 7+ years of Unix Shell Scripting.
- 7+ years of experience working on projects involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC).
- 5+ years of experience working with defect or incident tracking software (e.g., SMAX, HP ALM/Quality Center, Remedy, ServiceNow).
- 7+ years of experience working with source code control systems.
- 7+ years of experience writing technical documentation in a software development environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in hosting APIGW on the cloud, preferably on GCP.
- Strong intellectual curiosity with a desire to learn new technologies and techniques.
- Understanding of industry-standard best practices regarding integration, architecture, tools, and processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
