We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team at one of Fort Wayne's premier apartment communities, Wallen Hills Apartments. Maintenance Technicians ensure that work orders are completed and vacant units are ready for new residents. Projects may include different levels of carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, hardware installations and repairs for vacant and occupied residential units. On-call is required on a rotating basis with other members of your team. HVAC and pool certification preferred, but not necessary. We will train you at our expense! The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition.

Responsibilities
- Perform repairs to make-ready units in a timely manner.
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
- Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
- Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
- Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
- Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned.
- On-call is required on a rotating basis with other members of your maintenance team.
Skills
- Proven experience as Maintenance Technician, at least one year Apartment Maintenance preferred
- Basic understanding of electrical, construction and plumbing trades
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
- Certificate in HVAC preferred or earned at NO COST TO YOU!
