This position will work between 2 locations, and must have reliable transportation.
Job Description:
Maintains efficient operation and upkeep of the property buildings and grounds in a supportive role.
Supervises: This job has no supervisory responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the Housekeeping Team include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.
- Responsible for the daily repair and upkeep of the property.
- Responsible to maintain the grounds and assist the groundskeeper on daily basis.
- Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, state and federal laws; e.g., OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing, etc.
- Clean the office, community rooms, restrooms and other common areas on a daily and/or weekly basis.
- Clean and maintain models and/or target units on a daily basis.
- Clean all vacant apartments as directed by the Manager and/or Vice President.
- Keep all vacancies fresh and odorless.
- Clean and maintain laundry facilities daily.
- Perform additional duties requested by the Manager and/or Vice President.
- Inform management of supply needs on a weekly basis. Responsible for the supply and upkeep of all personal tools required by Mark Dana Management and its affiliated companies.
- Responsible for reporting unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or residents.
- Responsible for insuring a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Responsible for cleaning work area, tools and equipment.
- Responsible for courteous, efficient response at all times.
- Be aware of and operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times.
- Responsible for thorough knowledge of management company policies and property community policies.
- Responsible for seeking educational opportunities and self-improvement for personal growth and development.
- Responsible to be available to work on an on-call basis.
- And anything else that the Vice President feels falls into the Housekeeper's job description
- Learn and ensure compliance with all company, local, state and federal safety rules.
- Ensure that unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner.
- Follow a “safety first” principle.
Physical Demands: * PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Constant need (66% to 100% of the time) to be on feet.
- Constant need (66% to 100% of the time) to perform the following physical activities: Bend/Stoop/Squat/Kneel Perform routine cleaning; pick up debris Climb Stairs Routine cleaning duties require access to all levels of the building(s). Push or Pull Move light furniture, appliances, open and close doors, etc. Reach Above Shoulder Perform routine cleaning duties. Climb Ladders Perform routine cleaning duties. Grasp/Grip/Turning Handle cleaning tools and equipment. Finger Dexterity Handle cleaning tools and equipment.
- Lift/carrying (cleaning supplies, vacuum, step stool, etc.) 50 – 75 lbs. Rare need (less than 1% of the time) 25 – 50 lbs. Occasional need (1% to 33% of the time) 1 – 25 lbs. Constant need (66% to 100% of the time)
- Required to handle cleaning chemicals. Certain cleaning chemicals may require pre-mixing.
- VISION REQUIREMENTS
- Constant need (66% to 100% of the time) to observe areas needing attention/correction. Read cautionary labels; respond to written instructions from employees.
- Frequent need (33% to 60% of the time) to see things clearly beyond arm’s reach. Observe and assist Maintenance; observe problems throughout property.
- HEARING REQUIREMENTS
- Not essential. Frequent need (33% to 66% of the time) to receive instructions from Manager. Written instructions are acceptable.
- COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Constant need (66% to 100% of the time) to communicate with staff and residents.
- WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Indoors (66% to 100% of the time). Occasionally outdoors (1% to 33% of the time).
- Constant exposure (66% to 100% of the time) to cleaning chemicals, paint fumes, solvents, adhesives, etc. Example: apartments during and after make-ready.
- Frequent need (33% to 66% of the time) to work in awkward and confining positions
Additional Requirements:
Attendance is an imperative job function. Reliable Transportation. Flexible work schedule, as the needs at each location vary by the month.

Required Experience: * 2+ years property cleaning experience preferred.
