• Shift: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (M-F)

What's a typical day as an Accounts Payable Specialist? You'll be:
• Reviewing and verifying invoices and check requests.
• Sorting, coding, and matching invoices, Setting invoices up for payment.
• Entering and uploading invoices into the system.
• Tracking expenses and processing expense reports.
• Preparing and processing electronic transfers and payments, and check runs.
• Maintaining, verifying, and posting transactions to journals, ledger, and other records.
• Reconciling accounts payable transactions. Preparing analysis of accounts.
• Monitoring accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
• Researching and resolving invoice discrepancies and issues, maintaining vendor files.
• Corresponding with vendors and responding to inquiries.
• Producing monthly reports, assisting with month-end closing.
• Providing supporting documentation for audits.
• Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Paying vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal ID numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
• Creating and submitting contract invoices to contract agencies.
• Protecting the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Maintaining backup documentation.

• Have experience with accounts payable software and systems.
• Are proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
