The Air Shuttle is hiring multiple Mechanics out of the Hillsboro, OR Base.
The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the airworthiness of the aircraft and all corresponding components in accordance with FAA regulations and company policy. This includes performing maintenance, repair, alterations and periodic checks on company or customer aircraft. Mechanics must be comfortable working in inclement weather and able to work various shifts dependent on the operational need.
A&P Technician
• Accomplish periodic checks and operations on aircraft and engines inaccordance with furnished work instructions, maintenancetask cards, maintenance manuals and other applicable data.
• Perform maintenance, repair, and alterations on company or customer aircraft in accordance with furnished work instructions, maintenance task cards, maintenance manuals, and other applicable data, including standard industry practices acceptable to the Administrator.
• Maintain work area in a neat, clean and safe condition at all times.
• Responsible for movement of aircraft in hangar and on ramp, including operation of all power and other ground equipment, including push backs, tugs, tow bars, etc.
• Works both independently and as part of a team to accomplish tasks.
• Manages unexpected changes in a time sensitive and stressful environment. Remain calm and professional in any situation.
• Perform deferrals in accordance with deferral procedures and MEL Manual.
• Knowledgeable of current FAA and industry best practices, including attending training programs established or required by the Air Shuttle to maintain relevancy.
• Prioritizes completing tasks safely and in accordance with the Air Shuttle’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and industry standard.
• Notifies appropriate Maintenance Leadership of any discrepancies or unairworthy conditions found during the performance of work assigned.
• Immediately notifies appropriate Maintenance Leadership about any conditions that would create a problem relating to parts, materials, airworthiness, or workmanship.
• Must possess sufficient hand tools to perform his/her duties as an A&P Mechanic.
• Complies with department uniform and grooming policy.
• Attends periodic maintenance training programs as directed by the company.
• Ensure all required paperwork, including entry logs, are completed within provided deadlines and are legible.
• Document all work in accordance with Air Shuttle procedures and industry standards.
• Embody the values of the Air Shuttle culture and standard of service to help create and maintain a positive work environment & successful operation.
Required education and experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working as an A&P Mechanic on EMB 145XRs, EMB 175s or similar aircraft.
• Hold a current mechanic certificate with FAA airframe and powerplant ratings, required.
• Have a full understanding of the following as it pertains to a part 125 certificate – aviation safety standards and safe operating practices, the 14 CFR 125.249 manual, appropriate maintenance and airworthiness requirements of 14 CFR (e.g., Parts 1, 21, 23, 25, 43, 45, 47, 65, 91, and 125).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language.
• Ability to analyze complex situations, processes, and procedures. Demonstrates flexibility in problem solving when required.
• Able to work in a manual environment and repeatedly lift up to 50lbs throughout a shift.
• Able to work as part of a team in a challenging environment.
Additional eligibility requirements
• Must be able to pass a Non-DOT pre-employment urine drug screen and random drug and alcohol screenings in accordance with company policy.
• Hold a current mechanic certificate with FAA airframe and powerplant ratings
• Must posses sufficient hand tools to perform necessary duties.
• Willingness to work in inclement weather.
• Requires an unrestricted U.S. driver’s license.
Work authorization/security clearance requirements
• Authority to work in the United States
• Must be able to obtain a Non-SIDA airport badge by passing a background check ordered by the Airport.
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including a TSA required fingerprint-based criminal history records check in compliance with TSA Security Program Standards and 49 CFR 1544.229 and 49 CFR 1544.230

The salary range for this position is $35.47per hour.
