Summary
Forge Nano Inc. is a fast-growing materials company with a focus on manufacturing nano-scale coatings across a wide range of markets including Li-Ion Batteries. Forge Nano is seeking a Anode Production Scientist to join their Energy Storage Design and Manufacturing Team. This position will focus on the anode process day to day operation of Forge Nano's 1 MWh Battery Prototyping Line.

The Anode Production Scientist should be prepared to work in fast-paced development and prototyping environment. The role requires a detailed oriented individual who is comfortable working with an interdisciplinary team of scientists, technicians, and engineers. The Anode Production Scientist will report to the Lead Equipment Engineer.

Experience with Li-ion cell production scale up, Li-ion industrial manufacturing processes are both desirable skillsets.

Skills and Responsibilities

The Anode Production Scientist may be responsible for tasks and skills such as (non-exhaustive):

Lead the Anode Production activities on the battery prototyping line, overseeing the entire process.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale up Anode Production from lab-scale to pilot line.

Develop and optimize anode manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality.

Conduct in-depth analyses of Anode Production data to identify opportunities for improvement.

Troubleshoot and address issues related to Anode Production in real-time.

Work closely with R&D to integrate new anode technologies into pilot line operations.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Anode Production team.

Document and maintain detailed records of Anode Production processes and procedures.

Implement safety and quality procedures.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field or 10 years' experience working in battery manufacturing

3-5 years' experience in battery lab or battery manufacturing environment

Experience leading/mentoring junior staff

Operate manufacturing equipment hands-on, ensuring smooth processes and addressing issues promptly for reliable production.

Experience in Lithium-ion Battery development and/or production

Work Environment

Work will predominately be in a manufacturing environment. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, steel toe shoes, lab coat, and in the plant, a hard hat. Strict adherence to corporate and/or plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required. The employee occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and use hands.

Travel

Up to 25% travel in the first year, subsequently 15% travel to vendor/client locations may be required.

Compensation

  • Salary $85,000 - $105,000
  • Medical, dental, vision, disability insurance available, 401(k) with matching, PTO, Paid holidays, Paid Parental Leave
