Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Anesthesia Technician to join our team. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting the anesthesia care team in providing safe and effective patient care during surgical procedures. This is a vital position that requires strong technical skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up anesthesia equipment and supplies for surgical procedures
- Assist with the positioning and securing of patients for anesthesia administration
- Monitor and maintain anesthesia equipment, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness
- Assist with the administration of anesthesia under the direct supervision of an anesthesiologist or nurse anesthetist
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of anesthesia equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, supplies used, and patient information
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
- Adhere to aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Assist with inventory control of anesthesia supplies and equipment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Anesthesia Technician program preferred
- Previous experience as an Anesthesia Technician or related healthcare role strongly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology
- Familiarity with Epic or other electronic health record systems is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the healthcare team
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure and respond quickly in critical situations
- Experience working in critical care or ICU settings is highly desirable
- Understanding of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) used in anesthesia procedures
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $34.85 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
