Job Overview
We are seeking a Business Analytics Intern to join the team in pursuit of our mission to make the dream of homeownership accessible and affordable for all.
The Business Analytics Intern will work closely with the Director, Business Analytics. You will use our cloud data stack (Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt Cloud, Sigma, Dataiku, AWS) to analyze large product usage databases so that we can understand our customers better and optimize our products and content. You will translate business questions into data analysis plans and explain the findings to coworkers in a way that is comprehensible and actionable. You may also be asked to help the Data Science team build or validate models used in our products.
This is a paid, temporary internship expected to last approximately five months (with a four-month extension possible).
The Business Analytics Internship can be remote or hybrid, according to our hybrid work policy. Those local to our Baltimore, MD office would have a hybrid 40-hour schedule with two (2) days in office and those outside of the area would have a 40-hour remote schedule.
This internship will allow you to apply advanced analytics to real data, unearth fascinating insights about consumer credit and mortgage lending and see those insights directly applied to product design. It will be a great introduction to the practice of data-driven product management.
Essential Functions:
In this role, you will be responsible for several tasks.
  • Use SQL, Python, and Sigma to transform, prepare and analyze product usage data and external data; create dashboards and write reports explaining the findings of this analysis
  • Translate business questions into data analysis plans
  • Maintain and enhance data and transformation pipelines

Required Education and Experience
  • Currently pursuing Masters in analytics, data science, or closely related discipline.
  • Proven ability to interpret statistical results for non-technical audiences, verbally and in writing.
  • Professional experience and ability to swiftly learn new business context.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Exposure to SQL and Python.
  • Experience using any of: AWS, dbt Cloud, Looker, Sigma, Dataiku, or Snowflake are strong pluses.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States during the period of the internship.
