Job Description
This individual will perform activities to support existing marketed products (peptides, proteins) for injectable dosage forms. This position will support Global Technical Operations, S&T projects, and manufacturing sites in multiple areas including impurity profiling and identification of DS and DP, unknown compound identification, and characterization with the use of advanced analytical techniques such as LC-MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS. Perform Extractable and Leachable studies for API and DP container closure systems, and manufacturing components. Develop, evaluate, validate, and transfer complex analytical methods to CRO’s and CMO’s. Assist Quality to address commercial product issues. Perform cell culture and western analysis to support S&T projects. Provide accurate chemical and instrumental test results within designated timeline. Ensure quality of data and documentation conforms to established standards. Operate within a regulated environment and follow cGxP guidelines, as appropriate.
Essential Functions:
- Must possess advanced knowledge of Analytical Chemistry.
- Must demonstrate expertise in different analytical techniques, theory, application, troubleshooting, etc.
- Must have extensive experience in LC/MS or GC-MS or ICP-MS. Must have knowledge and extensive hands-on experience with Agilent mass spectrometry.
- Must have experience with method validation and transfers for pharmaceutical methods according to current regulatory guidelines.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum Requirements
Education/Experience:
- PhD in Chemistry or related science with a minimum of 2 years of pharmaceutical or related work experience in field.
- MS in Chemistry or related science typically with a minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical or related work experience in field.
- BA or BS in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Science, Physics, or related science typically with a minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical or related work experience in field.
Required Skills/Competencies:
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced team setting and a resource limited environment.
- Self-motivated, good worth ethic, and especially timely task completion.
- Good organization, planning and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- A working knowledge of laboratory procedures is necessary along with effective oral and written communication skills.
- Individual must demonstrate problem solving skills and technical competency.
- Desirable laboratory skills include extensive experience with mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography (to include a variety of detection modalities), and laboratory automation.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
