Obra Capital is currently seeking an Analyst, Structured Credit to join our investment team in our New York office. Reporting to our Head of Structured Credit Investing, the purpose of this role is to analyze various investment opportunities across the Structured Credit space, including but not limited to ABS, CMBS, RMBS type securities. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience and familiarity with Structured Credit assets, have strong mathematical skills, and be technical proficient with various database tools.
BELOW ARE A LIST OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Responsibilities
Valuations of public and privately traded Structured Credit products.
Work with team to source investments in the Structured Credit space
Draft and present investment screening memos
Conduct and monitor portfolio and performance analytics on an ongoing basis
Develop cash flow models, performing deep dive due diligence on
Drive communication with counsel and rating agencies on documentation and transaction execution
Interface with multiple functional groups including Operations, Investor Relations, Trading, and Back Office.
Leverage experience with rating agencies’ websites and models to efficiently find and source credit reports, peer analysis and methodologies, and related documents.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a high GPA in finance, math or another quantitative field from a top-rated institution
2+ years of Structured Credit experience coming from a buyside, sell-side or consulting firm in either a valuations or structuring capacity
Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills (proficiency in Excel, Intex, etc.)
Meticulous attention to detail coupled with robust project management and organizational abilities
Consistent demonstration of clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Comfort working within a dynamic team and excelling in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Database experience, including proficiency with SQL, R, Python or similar is preferred.
Salary range is $100,000 – $125,000. Salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role.
