Job description

The Credit Risk Analyst will be responsible for the credit approval process including the consistent application of the credit policies, periodic credit reviews of existing customers and assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the combination of company sales and bad debt losses. Risk Analytics (75%): Conduct credit analysis by ways of gathering, analyzing and interpreting all types of credit information from financial statements, for customer portfolios to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit. Extract, process and transform data from multiple sources.

Analyze credit bureau data and alternative credit data. Establish customer credit limits and payment terms. Maintain consistent standards for granting credit, reviewing open credit limits, and setting risk ratings.

Monitor customer portfolios in order to maximize credit quality and minimize risk and potential loss. Provide decisions for business critical credit release requests or recommend a decision and escalate to appropriate level using delegated authorities and credit policy. Develop, clearly recommend, and assist with the implementation of business strategies to manage Credit Risk, increase revenues, and reduce exposure to credit losses.

Conduct comprehensive analyses to assess levels of portfolio Credit Risk, including summarizing results with opinions and recommendations for actions. Evaluate and assess the adequacy of internal processes and reduce all forms of Credit Risk exposure. Prepare write off proposals as needed.

Compile monthly reporting per assigned portfolio and highlight any critical risk factors. Administrative (25%): Retrieve and verify merchant account documentation; ensure files are managed and updated. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.

Other duties as assigned. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance and; Minimum of 2 years of experience in a commercial credit/collections or a related field. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.

Bilingual in English and Spanish desired. Previous reconciliation and analytic experience required. Previous SAP or related ERP experience desired Strong Microsoft Office experience, specifically Excel, a plus Effective organization, decision making and interpersonal skills Ability to provide excellent customer service skills and skillfully handle confrontation Exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and system knowledge Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize work Knowledge of the fundamentals of collections concepts and practices Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
