The Analyst I works within a team setting to assist in conducting Whole Effluent Toxicity(WET) testing. On the job training to be provided. Will be responsible for completion of required tasks in accordance with established SOP's. May include weekend work shifts as schedule allows. Tasks may include but are not limited to: hardness and alkalinity titrations, weighing using analytical balances, using a cell counter and cleaning supplies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works directly with other staff members in a team environment to perform daily tasks.
- Performs laboratory procedures requiring knowledge of scientific methods and testing procedures including:
- Monitoring of water quality measures (DO, pH, temperature, etc.).
- Cleaning and preparation of laboratory equipment.
- Performance of laboratory methods to determine TRC, ammonia, hardness, and alkalinity.
- Operation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory instruments
- Performs Level I review of data produced to ensure accuracy.
- Responsible for performing job functions within Eurofins Environment Testing environmental health and safety and quality assurance standards.
- Maintains housekeeping standards for work area
Secondary Duties:
- Washes and inventories glassware.
- Complete work within time and quality restraints.
- Purges analyzed samples.
- Assists in other areas of laboratory when needed
- High School Diploma or equivalent and background knowledge of science practices/principles preferred
- No prior knowledge of Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) testing procedures is required
- Previous production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)

Position is temporary, 20-30 hours over a 2 to 5 day work week during June through August only. Local Corvallis candidates only.
