Job Description:
We are seeking an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to support Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in meeting their mission requirements. Services will be rendered in a highly technical environment as part of a contract team supporting NAVSEA at the Washington Navy Yard.
Responsibilities include:
• Provide quality ASL-spoken English interpretation in a timely manner.
• Support managing the ASL interpreting schedule and reports to various customers.
• Mentor and review work of novice interpreters
• Maintain adherence to the RID Code of Professional Conduct.
Here's what you need:
• RID Certified interpreter.
• 5 years' experience as a currently RID Certified interpreter working in a fast paced and technical settings
• Strong voicing skills
• Experience with solving difficult, complex ethical problems involving consideration of multiple issues and job areas
Bonus points if you have:
• MA/MS Degree in ASL Interpretation
• 5 years of working in a Business/Government setting with highly complex technical jargon
Security Clearance:
• Active Secret Clearance
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in ASL Interpretation or equivalent experience
