Ambulance Operator And Transportation Services

Under general supervision, the Ambulance Operator and Transportation Services role is responsible for providing basic medical care and safe Transportation Services for organ, eye, and tissue donors, clinical personnel, and medical equipment within the OneLegacy DSA. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ambulance Transports:

1. Drive and operate ambulance equipment safely and effectively under limited supervision.
2. Safely transport patients and crew during ambulance transportation, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
3. Provide basic life support care within the scope of an EMT, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway maintenance, and emergency medical treatments.
4. Assist with lifting patients into and out of ambulances, ensuring their secure positioning.
5. Maintain inventory of emergency ambulance supplies and equipment, conducting routine vehicle maintenance and inspections.
6. Keep detailed records of patient transport, including patient condition, treatments administered, and vital signs.

Perfusion Program:

1. Transport organ perfusion devices to and from donor hospitals, ensuring safe handling and operation of medical equipment.
2. Operate basic lift equipment to load and unload perfusion devices safely.

Courier Services:

1. Provide courier services for transplant and donor operations, including transportation of equipment, lab samples, and supplies between OneLegacy offices and donor hospitals.
2. Safely transport transplant recovery teams and recovered organs to and from local airports.

Job Qualifications:
Education: EMT/Paramedic certification required. Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as an ambulance driver. Certification/License: Maintain a valid CA Driver's License, proof of auto insurance with $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability coverage and reliable auto transportation throughout the duration of your employment. Equipment: Reliable automotive transportation is required.
Pay Range: $21-23.
