Founding: Milwaukee College Prep was incorporated as a non-profit organization in the spring of 1997 as a gift to the Milwaukee community by Micky and Ron Sadoff and Junior Bridgeman.

Job Summary:
The objective for this position is to continue to support students who complete the eighth grade here on their journey to college. Our goal is to have at least 94% of our graduates complete high school within five years of advancing from Milwaukee College Prep and to have at least 75% of our graduates attend college and 45% receive a college degree within 10 years of leaving Milwaukee College Prep. This position is also the lead in cultivating and maintaining community partnerships and internal/external volunteer opportunities within our network and community. Support and collaborator on all external and internal MCP events.
Essential Functions:
Alumni Relations
- Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with 7th and 8th grade scholars, families, alumni, and colleagues.
- Participate in network-wide functions supporting middle schoolers.
- Support our 7th and 8th grade scholars at all phases of high school placement, including coordination of MCP’s high school fair.
- Play a leading role in the development of an 8th grade bootcamp for students to address academics and social/cultural topics in the Spring but prior to completion ceremony.
- Manage social media channels dedicated to MCP alumni, including content development and community management.
- Plan alumni events and “pop-up” opportunities
- Assisting in the preparing and managing of mailing lists
- Assisting in the mailing of development letters
- Assistance with the timely acknowledgment of contributions
- Work collaboratively with school leadership teams to understand the needs for volunteers.
- Design and implement a network-wide volunteer program to support academics, athletics, and other campus-wide needs.
- Design and implement volunteer engagement strategies (e.g., individual volunteer opportunities, corporate volunteer opportunities, coordinate a volunteer luncheon)
- Host tours for volunteers and prospective volunteers
- Design and implement community engagement/partnership strategies.
- Build relationships and manage partnerships with Milwaukee-area business partners.
- Cultivate partnerships with churches, organizations, and neighborhood leaders
- Represent Milwaukee College Prep at community gatherings and events
- Assist the Chief Marketing & External Affairs Officer
- Assist with social media community management (as needed)
- Media relations support (as needed)
- Assist with content development (e.g., writing blog posts, social posts)
- Bachelor’s degree required (marketing, communications, or similar is preferred)
- Three years of experience in alumni relations, development, external affairs, marketing and/or communications with a track record of success

- Ambassador and spokesperson for Milwaukee College Prep, able to strongly articulate our mission to external constituents (including Milwaukee-area high schools), partner organizations, and potential funders.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and the effective use and maintenance of social media sites, including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
- Must have a belief in and be in alignment with Milwaukee College Prep’s core beliefs and educational philosophy.
- Must be passionate about working with children and tenacious in ensuring each scholar’s success.
- Must exhibit enthusiasm and positivity.
- This position travel between four campuses, and transports supplies and materials to and from events therefore a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License, and reliable transportation is required to perform work duties. Mileage reimbursement.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Much of this job involves sitting, mostly indoors with the exception of travel to and from schools. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
