Overview:

As a successful All-Ripken Games Coach, you will instruct, motivate, organize, and manage a team during the All-Ripken Games events. These events will be played during August 2024.

About The All-Ripken Games:

Harold Bacchus Community Park is a state-of-the-art sports complex located in Frisco, TX. The All-Ripken Games specializes in youth baseball tournaments bringing teammates, coaches, and families together through our Big-League Experiences. We are committed to maintaining the values and experience gained from playing the game, while making sure there's a whole lot of fun along the way.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team in the All-Ripken Games, teaching kids ages 6-15 the fundamentals of baseball and softball, the Ripken Way
  • Manage a team through the All-Ripken Games tournament by organizing a lineup and substitutions.
  • Learn how to operate the best baseball and softball evaluations/practices in the nation, from those who have created and implemented the standards and practices.
  • Create a fun, dynamic atmosphere for participants, developing camaraderie and acting as a positive role model.
  • Uphold the values and brand standards established by Ripken Baseball.
  • Operate instructional stations and evaluations (including hitting, pitching, and fielding).
  • Observe and evaluate player performance.
  • Gain knowledge of and training in management, coaching, and working independently when assisting with event operations.
  • Aid in setting up and breaking down baseball/softball equipment at the start or end of each day as needed.
  • Assist partner brand and agency representatives in setting up and breaking down event production equipment and promotional items.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism while providing extraordinary customer service.

Requirements:

  • Past baseball or softball experience with a strong understanding of fundamentals; interest in coaching.
  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Prior coaching experience.
  • Prior experience working with children, exhibiting the ability to be patient and understanding.
  • An outgoing, friendly personality, initiative, and high level of energy.
  • Ability and willingness to physically perform all job responsibilities.

Working Conditions/Special Physical Requirements:

  • Regular lifting of heavy items of 20 pounds or more.
  • Exposure to extreme heat or cold.
