GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The All-In Tutor oversees all high-dosage tutoring efforts held at the school site.
The Lead Tutor is responsible for organizing, planning, and evaluating tutoring efforts upon specific goals and objectives established by Hanover County Public Schools and the Virginia Department of Education. The Lead Tutor provides leadership to the school and division leadership to improve student outcomes.
All-In Lead Tutor ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Specific responsibilities and expectations include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Coordinates the All-In Tutoring program at the school site to provide:
    • Learning acceleration
    • Monitoring of attendance
    • Communication with families
    • Coordination of transportation
    • Progress monitoring
    • Before, during, and after school tutoring
    • Schedule development support
  • Ensures tutoring matches on grade level content and supports students as they connect lost learning to what they are learning in the classroom every day.
  • Serves as a member of, and providing data for, the school's Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP) team
  • Analyzes performance data and instructional strategies with school administration and curriculum specialists to make appropriate educational decisions to improve classroom instruction, increase student achievement, and improve overAll Instructional effectiveness.
  • Works collaboratively with staff to identify student needs and to design, revise, and monitor schoolwide tutoring efforts;
  • Provides tutors with resources for the successful implementation of effective instructional strategies.
  • Collaboratively develops, implements, and monitors the tutoring program to verify increased student academic progress.
  • Conducts learning walks and observations to provide tutors with quality feedback to improve practice.
  • Ensures on-going, job-embedded, and differentiated professional learning to support high quality tutoring.
  • Assists curriculum specialists and school administration in making tutoring program decisions.
  • Plans, organizes, and facilitates tutoring meetings for all tutors and maintains records as directed by the principal.
  • Collaborates with administration on making adjustments to the comprehensive schedule to meet the needs of students.
  • Assists in the development of tutoring programs that will continue in the summer based on student need.
  • Autonomously assists small groups of children in various subject areas;
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the administration in accordance with the school division's policies and practices.

  • Qualifications: KSA's, Education
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    General knowledge of modern practices, techniques, and methods for teaching children including students with special education needs; the principles of educational testing and principles and methods of remedial education; the principles and methods of educational research. Ability to apply modern methods and principles of education to students functioning at multiple levels of mastery; maintain proper discipline as aligned with division guidelines regarding pupil behavior management; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and students. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
    • Teacher License or expired teaching license

    Preferred:
    • Master's Degree from accredited institution.
    • At least three years of successful experience as a classroom teacher at the secondary level.
    • Endorsement in Administration and Supervision.

    Terms of Employment
    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Grant funded for the 2023-2024 school year and 2024-2025 school year only.

    WORK SCHEDULE: .Defined hourly schedule per day up to 30 hours per week.
    PAYGRADE: Licensed/Previously Licensed personnel - $30.53/hour

    Physical requirements and Disclaimer
    PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
    Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees, students and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact. Physical capability to use and operate effectively various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Work is typically performed in a school setting including; classroom, gym, cafeteria, auditorium and recreational areas. Frequent walking, standing, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. Occasional travel with students on field trips may be required. Occasional movement of students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required. Regular instruction to special needs children may be necessary. Daily personal and close contact with students to provide classroom management and learning environment support is required. Regular contact with other staff members and parents is required. Frequent contact with parents by phone, email, and in person as necessary.
