Job Description
SUMMARY:
This position will consist of shadowing and working alongside at the direction of licensed technicians and managers. Study materials will be provided by AAA related to Fire Alarms. As experience and knowledge is gained in this role you will be expected to test with national, state and local jurisdictions to obtain applicable licensing required to complete this program. Operation of a company vehicle is required. Responsible for maintaining a professional, productive and safe work environment.
DUTIES:
- Gain a fluent understanding in the areas of electrical circuitry, fire alarm operations regarding inspections, testing, maintenance and repairs of these systems in accordance with current manufacturers' recommendations, NFPA standards and regulations, and current jurisdictional code
- Gain a working understanding of AAA product capabilities, warranties, product usages to sell, educate and serve customers.
- Aid licensed technicians to improve the quality and efficiency of their work.
- Develop habits of highly successful well-rounded technicians including but not limited product knowledge, customer communication and time management.
- Assist fellow apprentices to improve their skills and knowledge throughout the program.
- Minimum Licensing Requirements (upon completion of program)
- FA-1 (or equivalent)
- NICETT II – Fire Alarm
- Journeyman Electrical 06 License
- Graduation Expectation: 30-36 Months
- Responsible for notifying direct supervisor of any equipment issues or any unsafe working conditions.
- Responsible for recording time in the company provided time and attendance software.
- Responsible for complying and enforcing safety requirements while on company property, driving company vehicle and at customers site.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, plus the ability to multi-task and work in a fast- paced team environment
- Exhibits attention to detail with high standards for accuracy and follow through.
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with iOS Apple hardware and operating systems and software.
- Ability to work overtime and or outside standard business hours and or weekends as needed to accommodate customer needs.
- Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements.
