This job opportunity is for an AIRPLANE PILOT, position description D0253P02, within the 108th OG of the New Jersey Air National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position.
Its paramount purpose is to pilot a unit-equipped airplane. In addition to piloting responsibilities, performs administrative tasks in support of the Air Operations program.
Must have the following General Experience(s);
- Understanding of the occupation's basic principles and concepts
- One year on-the-job experience in the grade (or a comparable military rank)
- A Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates or appropriate military certifications
- Military ratings in the main-frame military aircraft of employment
Must have 36 months of experience in the following;
- Piloting and instructing pilot skills in one or more of the following main-frame/military aircraft;
- Fixed-wing
- Rotary
- Remotely piloted aircraft
- Training and instructing others in the piloting of a specified main-frame military aircraft
- Supervising and/or conducting mission planning, mission preparations, filing of flight plans, and conducting crew briefings
- Traditional "stick and rudder" type controls for piloting aircraft direction, altitude, and speed
- Planning, scheduling, and conducting training flights through Federal Aviation Administration controlled national airspace
- Conducting particular missions and flying specific main-frame aircraft in combat tactics
- Flying in mountainous terrain
- Performing tactical remote site evaluations
- Performing landings on remote sites
- Provide ground and flight training
- Conducting night-vision operations or instructions
- Civilian aviation program
- Military service aviation program (active duty or reserve components)
- Army National Guard Aviation Support facility
- Air National Guard Wing/ Operations Group
- 500 hours total military fixed wing flying time
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university
- A Graduate Degree from an accredited civilian academic college or from an equivalent professional military education school is optimum
- Federal Aviation Administration certifications awarded from an accredited civilian aviation program or aviation certification from accredited military aviation school.
