Full time positions available for experienced general aviation Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics for bustling aircraft maintenance and repair facility located in beautiful Sugar Land, TX.
As a Cirrus Authorized Service Center, our team enjoys the opportunity to experience and service the latest, most innovative, and best-selling SR Series piston aircraft. Our customer base also consists of single and twin engine prop, turbo prop and light jet aircraft of numerous manufacturers, for routine scheduled maintenance, repairs, phase and annual inspections, pre-purchase evaluations, as well as unscheduled and emergency services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Examine replacement aircraft parts for correctness and possible defects
- Diagnose mechanical or electrical problems
- Read and understand maintenance manuals and other technical documents, and identify repair procedures
- Perform work assignments efficiently and within estimated and budgeted time
- Replace defective parts using approved tooling
- Test aircraft parts with proper diagnostic equipment
- Utilize measurement and testing equipment
- Review and research aircraft records
- Interpret flight test data to diagnose malfunction and performance problems
- Inspect completed work for compliance and performance standards
- Install system software and databases
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic's Certificate in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years recent Airframe and power plant employment history on various piston aircraft (will consider recent aircraft maintenance school graduate with temporary FAA certificate). *
- Professional, friendly demeanor, possess good teamwork skills, communicate well with customers, management and staff.
- Capability to meet or exceed high quality work standards and expectations in a manufacturer service center environment.
- General computer and internet skills.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Able and willing to work in the elements.
- Negative initial drug and alcohol screening, and satisfactory background check required. Continued participation in random drug and alcohol screening program.
- Possess the necessary industry related tools, or the ability to obtain them within 30 days of employment.
- Successful completion of company paid internet-based maintenance course at onset of employment (to be conducted on site).
