PENDING CONTRACT AWARD

Task Description:

Aircraft Survival Flight Equipment Technician II, WG-4818-10: This occupation includes jobs involved in disassembling, repairing, testing, troubleshooting, examining, fitting, modifying, maintaining, installing, and determining serviceability of aircraft survival and flight equipment such as helmets, torso harness assemblies, preservers, parachutes, life rafts, chemical and biological protective devices, survival kits, oxygen masks, and anti-G-suits. The work includes operational and circuit checks of emergency signaling and communication devices such as survival radios and beacons. The work requires knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance procedures, pyrotechnic and explosive devices, and aircraft egress systems. In addition, the work requires familiarity with aircraft assigned to the unit, detailed knowledge of the operation and characteristics of aircraft survival and flight equipment, and the ability to demonstrate and explain proper usage and operation of the equipment.

Skill and Knowledge: The Contractor shall provide Field and limited Sustainment Level scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and personal ALSS:

Aircraft Survival Flight Equipment and related Sub-systems

  • Must be knowledgeable of technical directives and shall be knowledgeable of and understand basic supply procedures.
  • Shall have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy, and ensure adherence to all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Possess a high degree of expertise in the control and coordination of aircraft maintenance.
  • Thorough working knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications.


Responsibility: Performs requirements in accordance with the procedures established in the PWS. Performs diagnosis and corrective actions, disassembles, inspects, evaluates, and accomplishes necessary repairs, lays out work according to technical instructions and technical directives. Determines what repairs, modifications, and part replacements are required. May be required to verify work performed by another for which he/she is qualified to perform.

  • Aircraft maintenance action documentation via logs, records, forms, and electronic means
  • Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections
  • Corrosion Control
  • Troubleshooting
  • Preservation and depreservation
  • General aircraft maintenance
  • Ordnance handling
  • Technical Directive compliance and modifications
  • Aviation Life Support System (ALSS) Maintenance/logbooks
  • Support services
  • Other duties as assigned


Preferred Qualifications:
  • ALSS Configuration Management course (C-555-0056)
  • Make Aircraft, Engine, ALSS, Egress, Armament and Support Equipment Logbooks and Records entries.
  • Certify Aircraft, Engine, ALSS, Egress, Armament and Support Equipment Logbook and Record entries
  • Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) for Airframes, Power Plants, ALSS, Egress/Environmental and Electrical Systems.
  • Ordnance handling and load team qualifications (if applicable)
  • Team Member (TM)
  • Quality Assurance Safety Observer (QASO)


Basic Qualifications:
  • Aircrew Survival Equipment (PR) "A" School or equivalent
  • Must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift if required
  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and shall be required to pass the equivalent of a trustworthy National Agency Check plus Written Inquiries with Credit Check (NACI), IAW DTM-08-003 "Next Generation Common Access Card (CAC) Implementation Guidance"


Compensation

$31.43/hour

Other Compensation

Employees will receive a health and welfare fringe benefit of $2.65 for every hour worked.

Employees are offered medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in KAI's 401k plan. Employees have a minimum of eleven paid holidays. After completing one year of service, employees will have two weeks paid vacation.

Employment is contingent on (a) your ability to provide appropriate proof of your identity and eligibility to work in the United States; (b) your references and any background check being satisfactory to the Company; (c) you successfully passing a pre-employment drug test; and (d) your ability to get a required clearance by your effective start date, if needed; and (e) KAI commencing performance on this contract.
