THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This position is located in the office of the State Army Aviation Officer (SAAO).

DEFINITION OF AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION:
Area 1 = Warrant Officer (CW2 and Above) members of the Louisiana National Guard.Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience in this series involve piloting or co-piloting aircraft to carry out various operational programs and functions of the Army and Air National Guard; provide ground and flight instruction and evaluation in AIRCRAFT PILOTing; perform staff work concerned with planning, analyzing, or administering agency specific aviation programs, where the work requires primarily the application of pilot knowledge and skills; encompasses all functions performed by rated pilots to conduct or directly support flying operations and training missions; supervisory and staff functions such as commanding, inspection, contingency planning, and policy formulation; encompasses utilization fields that directly employ weapons and supporting weapon systems to accomplish the Army National Guard and Air National Guard operational missions; encompasses flying operations and non-operational aviation positions concerned with the employment and support of aviation units and elements.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

(GS-11): Must possess at least Thirty-six (36) months of experience working experiences in civilian aviation programs; or, military service aviation programs (active duty or reserve components); or, in the Army National Guard Aviation Support facility; or, in Air National Guard Wing/ Operations Group; to qualify, the applicant must have competencies in operating a specific main-frame military aircraft, mission planning, and mission preparation; must have competence to review and analyze mission taskings, intelligence, and weather information; experienced in supervising and/or filing of flight plans and conducting crew briefings; experiences include aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments; experienced in performing or supervising work procedures involved in navigation, in-flight refueling, search and rescue operations, surveillance, and/or reconnaissance. skilled to conduct training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks; experiences may include developing plans and policies, monitoring operations, and advising commanders; experienced in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and operating procedures; experienced in the unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs in accordance with Department of Defense, Department of the Army, National Guard Bureau, and/or Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies, regulations, and directives.
(GS-12): Must possess at least Thirty-six (36) months of experience working experiences in civilian aviation programs; or, military service aviation programs (active duty or reserve components); or, in the Army National Guard Aviation Support facilities; or, in Air National Guard Wing/ Operations Groups; must be qualified as Maintenance Test Pilot, Aviation Safety Officer, or mission Survivability Officer; to qualify, the applicant must have at least two years specialized competencies in operating a specific main-frame military aircraft, mission planning, and mission preparation; must be qualified pilot in Command in either H60M or LUH; reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information; filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings; experienced in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments; experienced in performing or supervising w; or procedures involved in navigation, in-flight refueling, search and rescue operations or surveillance and reconnaissance; competent in conducting or supervising the training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks; developing plans and policies, monitoring operations, and advising commanders; knowledge is required in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and operating procedures; experienced in the unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs in accordance with Department of Defense, Department of the Army, National Guard Bureau, and/or Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies, regulations, and directives.
Education: Must possess a high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma; an undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university is optimum; must have Federal Aviation Administration certifications awarded from accredited civilian aviation programs or must have aviation certifications from accredited military aviation schools.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:

1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
