Job description

Overview:

As an A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of various general aviation aircraft. Your duties will include inspecting, repairing, and servicing aircraft components, engines, and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and manufacturer specifications. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and exceptional communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Aircraft Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft airframes, engines, systems, and components according to regulatory requirements and manufacturer guidelines.

2. Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to engine overhauls, component replacements and system troubleshooting. Identify and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure aircraft safety and reliability.

3. Scheduled Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance activities such as oil changes, tire replacements, and avionics checks in adherence to maintenance manuals and service bulletins.

4. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot aircraft malfunctions using diagnostic equipment, technical manuals, and experience-based knowledge to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and parts usage in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational procedures.

6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all relevant safety protocols, regulations, and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and airworthy aircraft. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.

7. Communication: Collaborate effectively with other maintenance personnel, pilots, and support staff to coordinate maintenance activities, prioritize tasks, and communicate aircraft status updates.

8. Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and integrity of maintenance work by adhering to quality control standards, conducting post-maintenance inspections, and participating in internal audits.

Qualifications:

- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform complex repairs and modifications.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and other relevant aviation standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to upholding safety standards.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime as needed.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in varying weather conditions and confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

- Additional certifications or training in avionics, aircraft systems, or specialized maintenance areas.
- Experience working with a variety of general aviation aircraft types and models.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and aviation software tools.

Compensation and Benefits:

- Beginning hourly rate based on the applicant’s experience
