Job Description
An Aircraft Mechanic at AEVEX Aerospace is responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft systems and components. They inspect and diagnose malfunctions, use power and hand tools to fix parts and ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains and repairs the mechanical components of aircrafts
- Keeps maintenance and repair logs
- Understands and applies guidelines from manuals and blueprints
- Takes direction from project leads and shop supervisor
- Maintains aircraft standards as required by the FAA
- Supports problem solving and continuous improvement efforts
- Follows safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe working environment
- Ensures all work is done efficiently and adheres to aviation safety regulations and industry best practices
- Maintains a clean work environment in full compliance with company standards and customer and government regulations
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent education required
- One year aviation experience, aviation maintenance schooling or similar work experience required
- Working knowledge of shop equipment
- Familiar with technical manuals and ATA codes
- Knowledge of servicing systems
- Understanding of basic aircraft documentation (non-routines, work continuation)
- Familiar with aircraft standard practices and AC 43.13
- Basic understanding of part identification and control tags (inventory, serviceable, unserviceable, rejected)
- Ability to work independently with direct supervision
- Detailed oriented, organized and a team player
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a time sensitive industry
