Job description

Serves as an ATCS (Terminal Instructor) at the FAA Academy. Instructors have responsibilities which require highly specialized training, significant managerial skills, specific technical qualifications and detailed proficiency representative of the Air Traffic Control occupational workforce. Possesses a high degree of human relations and communication skills, which enables the individual to function as an agency role model for both new and current FAA employees.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS/FG-13 (FV-I). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experienceincludes: Experience in an Air Traffic facility, specifically related to programs and systems used to support the NAS; experience that provides comprehensive knowledge of appropriate Air Traffic Control laws, rules and regulations, etc.; experience that provides an in-depth understanding of terminal/tower programs and procedures critical for successful execution.
