What You Will Do:
- Operation of street sweeping equipment and other related heavy equipment or tools to sweep streets, gutters, medians, parking lots, courtyards and public works yard; clears debris from rights-of-way; cleaning storm drains and inlets.
- Identification and reporting of hazardous conditions.
- Adjustment and operation of brooms, guards, and other related auxiliary equipment; changing of brooms as necessary.
- Inspecting equipment for safety and mechanical defects; checking fuel, fluid levels, air pressure and hydraulic systems; performing preventive maintenance and reporting the need for required maintenance; inspecting auxiliary equipment for proper operating condition and safety.
- Cleaning of sweeper and auxiliary equipment as necessary.
- Responding to emergency clean-ups including spills; performing special sweeping runs as necessary..
- May be required to work outside normal work hours in on-call and emergency situations.
- Performing snow removal duties on routes designated by supervisor
- Additional Duties as assigned.
What You Will Need:
- Current & valid driver's license with 3 years of driving experience is required, CDL is a plus.
- At least 1 year of experience operating street sweeping equipment is preferred.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure with unexpected occurrences and delays.
- Attention to detail.
- Great attendance and reliability.
- Available for Flexible scheduling. Our work schedules and start times vary with weather.
- Fluent English and Spanish speaking ability is preferred.
- A willingness to come to work every day and find ways for us to improve from the previous day.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, extreme noise, odors, heights, dust, fumes and hazardous materials.
- Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to climb ladders and work off the ground
- Will require driving between company locations.
- Overnight travel- 10% or less
