THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Our enthusiastic and dedicated nursing staff provides 24-hour care, seven days a week. From helping our residents prepare for their day to assisting them to participate in exciting activities, you will play a huge role in their day. Through this day to day contact with our residents, you will have the ability to positively impact their quality of life by providing the best possible care.
This position is a starting step to a Nurse Aide position. Upon completion of an 8-hour training course and successfully passing the competency exam, the 16-hour classroom course, and an 80-hour orientation program you would promote into a Nurse Aide position.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 2nd shift from 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, with 30-minute lunch. Your schedule includes working every other weekend until classes start. When classes start, you will go to school from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday-Friday for roughly a month and a half. Once school is completed, you will be placed back on 2nd shift.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • There are no minimum experience and training requirements for this job title.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Requirements (not required):

  • Willing and able to work in Erie, Erie County Pennsylvania.
  • Willing and able to work 2nd shift which is 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM (after certification is obtained) with rotating days and weekends.
  • Complete an 8-hour online training course at AHCA Education prior to hire and provide a certificate.
  • Work experience caring for geriatric or physically ill individuals.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
