AgSci Animal and Plant Caretaker

Ledyard Public Schools is seeking a reliable and experienced Animal and Plant Care worker. This position is part time.

Under the direct supervision of the Agri-Science Instructional Leader this role is responsible for feeding and caring for our outdoor and small animals, tending plants in our greenhouse, Outdoor animals, small animal lab, greenhouse and aquaculture lab. Reporting animal or plant concerns as they arise.

The successful candidate will possess:

• Demonstrated dependability and reliability
• Commitment to animal well being
• Working knowledge of agriculture preferred
• Willingness to learn as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Reliable transportation
• Experience with animals and Plants

Pay:

• $15.69 per hour - up to 4 hours a day

Schedule:

• Every Saturday & Sunday
• All School Holidays & Vacation periods
• Other days when school is not in session (e.g. Snow Days)
• Work must be performed before 10 a.m. each work day.

Additional Qualifications:

• Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.
