Form of workDescriptionThis position supports the implementation, operation and ongoing maintenance of Agricultural Systems utilized by Bear Creek Orchards in the production of gift quality fruit. The Technician will respond to seasonal priorities, utilizing knowledge of Irrigation and Frost systems, Tractor operation and Field Data reporting systems to support ongoing orchard operations.
Major responsibilities of the position are listed below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management.
- Assist with operational integrity associated with the technical components of an automated orchard irrigation systems, including wireless reporting systems.
- Maintains integrity of in-house weather station network in support of farming operations , disease modeling and frost control.
- Provide technical support for computerized spray application equipment.
- Support implementation and training of new technology to orchard staff.
- Build a working knowledge of field data collection systems to support accurate reporting of time and production information.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- Follow company policies and procedures including adherence to safe work practices.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years post High School training in data management systems.
- Agricultural experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook required.
- Working Knowledge of Wireless Communication and Web based products preferred.
- Bi-lingual preferred
