SYNCADD is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Owner to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with government stakeholders and development teams across various departments and projects to ensure the successful delivery of solutions that meet their critical needs. This role may be matrixed across multiple projects that are related via common data sets. Familiarity with the US Army structure, terminology, and installation management practices are a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintain the product vision and roadmap, ensuring it reflects government business priorities, stakeholder expectations, and the organization's mission. (This emphasizes the leadership and development aspect of the role.) Collaborate closely with government business owners and end-users, understanding their challenges, workflows, customer experience objectives, and operational realities.
- Translate stakeholder insights into actionable user stories and features that deliver tangible value and address pain points.
- Own and manage the product backlog, prioritizing user stories and features based on business value, impact, and feasibility.
- Work closely with the development team to break down features into user stories, estimate effort, define acceptance criteria, and facilitate user interviews and usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on product features.
- Track product performance and analyze key metrics to measure success, identify areas for improvement, and lead future product decisions.
- Communicate product progress and roadmap to stakeholders regularly, ensuring transparency, alignment, and buy-in.
- Participate in demos and inspect and adapt events, fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and rapid learning cycles.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Product Ownership or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and their application in government projects.
- Proven ability to prioritize, manage, and execute product roadmaps that deliver business value.
- Offer excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders at all levels, both technical and non-technical.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and managing products is preferred.
- Experience with user research and user experience (UX) best practices is a plus.
- A data-driven approach to product development is preferred.
- Understanding of web-based enterprise software development (e.g., .Net Framework, C#, JavaScript) is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of database systems is a plus.
- Must be a US Citizen and pass a government background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in the government sector is highly desirable.
- Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a plus.
- Experience with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure Boards) is preferred.
- Experience providing input on product decisions through user research, customer development, and iterative feedback loops is a plus.
- Experience in the design and/or development of full-service applications is a plus.
- Experience working in remote working environments is a plus.
- Security clearance: While not mandatory, a Secret security clearance is preferred.
