Job Summary
Farmers Group (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks an Agile Developer Team Member IV to design and develop computer programs, perform preliminary evaluation of packaged software, and conduct system studies. Specific responsibilities include: code instructions for computer programs/objects/components using programming languages; configure and integrate packaged software including; test and implement all changes to in-house developed software to ensure they meet specifications; document and implement programs according to installation standards and conventions; quality check program code, related objects and documentation; respond to production support issues and assist incident management team; analyze software programs to ensure that they efficiently use computer and storage resources and recommend appropriate changes; conduct preliminary estimates/Rough Order of Magnitude for the level of effort of new/change to DocProc application functionality; analyze and document the requirements and approaches to data conversion and data modeling; conduct system studies, analyze existing computerized and manual processes to improve efficiency; research and develop techniques for automation; monitor the work of junior staff and suppliers to ensure efficiency and compliance with specification; design and develop documentation of proposed procedures and systems; perform preliminary evaluation of packaged software; support implementation/training activities; and troubleshoot system environmental issues; and review code and documentation created by others for quality and fitment. Position requires occasional travel within the U.S. Option to work remotely is available.
Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field of study, plus 6 years of experience in the job offered, or as an Assistant Consultant, Associate Consultant, Senior Consultant, or similar position in software development. Must have 4 years of experience with each of the following: application development in Java/J2EE platform; development in Smart Communications One; application integration using SOAP and REST web services; and software build tools ANT and Maven. Must also have 2 years of experience with each of the following: JSP; Hibernate; Spring; JMS; JSON; HTML5; CSS 2.0; Log4J; and Oracle database. Additionally, specific experience must include each of the following: Angular JS; Ext JS; development with IBM FileNet P8; integrating Java applications with Siebel; integrating Java applications with Guidewire Claim Center; IBM WebSphere; Apache Tomcat; IBM MQ Series; source code version control tool GitHub; IDE Eclipse; and IBM RAD. Must be willing to occasionally travel within the U.S. Option to work remotely is available.
