OrganizationOverview

Lilly Research Labs plays a critical role in progressing the Lilly pipeline and driving the delivery of medicines from the time molecules leave the scientific research environment through product launch. Lilly Research Labs IT (LRL IT) is responsible for establishing the information management and technologies to enable the future capabilities of LRL, for delivery of solutions to meet approved information management and technology initiatives, and for the stability of the current solutions to meet evolving business needs. Within LRL IT, our Clinical Design and Operations team helps speed innovation to patients by ensuring effective clinical trial management and interactions with study site locations through the delivery of sound benefit-risk science that ultimately enables the right treatment to the right patient at the right time.

Key Objectives and Work You’re Doing

LRL IT provides technology solutions to business problems by defining, influencing, and developing solutions to achieve Lilly’s strategic outcomes.

This Agile Business Analyst position is responsible for working on the design, development, configuration, testing, and implementation of projects supporting key clinical trial capabilities. Specifically, this role will collaborate with LRL IT, business partners, and multiple suppliers to deliver major releases of applications throughout the year. To that end, this role entails the following responsibilities.

  • Work as a member of an Agile team with business representatives, vendors, and IT team members to develop requirements and design for clinical operations applications.

  • Perform technical implementation of the Vault Clinical SaaS application using the framework of the Veeva Vault configuration standards and best practices.

  • Perform test management activities and provide leadership for test execution.

  • Work closely with business partners using an Agile framework to identify and understand the business needs, challenges, and risks and translate them to IT project requests/requirements.

  • Understand the clinical operations business areas, processes, strategies and supporting data to deliver application and reporting solutions.

  • Responsible for defining and managing requirements and ensuring they are in-line with customer expectations and understood by both business and IT.

  • Participate in the development of project estimates & timelines.

  • Authoring and/or reviewing of validation deliverables.

  • Participate in requirements workshops, design, prototype, configuration activities to develop and document solutions to meet the business requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be skilled at building relationships, have an interest in building a technical foundation, and have high learning agility paired with the ability to translate business processes into technical concepts.

Specific objectives for this role include:

  • Grow your business skills by understanding the end-to-end business process to which technology is being applied and understanding how the customer will use that technology.

  • Grow your technical skills by learning and implementing the technology used in solution(s), understanding data flows and timing, and end-to-end technical tools and dependencies.

  • Develop technology solutions within environments governed by Quality Management Systems (QMS) utilizing iterative development methodologies and repeatable processes.

  • Influence decisions both internally and externally with vendor partners.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2+ years Agile principles and frameworks experience

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • Bachelor's degree in information management, business, computer science or related technical field

  • Experience with software development life cycle, spanning the lifecycle from project initiation to development, testing, and deployment.

  • Understand the Agile development processes and be familiar with requirements gathering techniques (i.e. users stories, backlog, story point assignment).

  • Good social, teamwork, and self-management skills.

  • Demonstrated agility to learn new technology, solve business issues, and influence others to adopt.

  • Experience with HP ALM and JIRA.

  • Familiarity with Software Quality Assurance methods and techniques.

  • Familiarity with Veeva Vault configuration framework.

  • Ability to accomplish results through others, particularly by establishing relationships, and being an effective team member and business partner.
