Bank Iowa is adding a member to their Ag and Commercial lending team in Clarinda, IA!

The Ag & Commercial Loan Officer specializes in generating quality Ag and Commercial loans as well as building full relationships with clients that include referrals for other Bank products and services. This role plays a pivotal part in growing and maintaining the bank's portfolio and will make efforts to be a part of and improve the community in which they reside.

Core Responsibilities

• Manages an agriculture and Commercial Loan portfolio with total outstanding balance of $5 to $15 million and manages 15-30 client relationships requiring annual review. 
• Meets with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process. Works with clients to identify their financial goals and to find ways of reaching those goals. 
• Explains to clients the different types of loans and credit options that are available, as well as the terms of those services. 
• Obtains and compiles copies of loan applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information. 
• Analyzes applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans. 
• Approves loans within specified limits and refers loan applications outside those limits to management for approval. 
• Communicates approvals or denials to the borrower. 
• Reviews loan agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy. 
• Reviews and updates credit and loan files. 
• Collects past due loans and tracks delinquencies. 
• Handles client complaints and takes appropriate action to resolve them. 
• May submit applications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation. 
• Personally answers incoming phone calls and schedules appointments. Answers client questions. 
• Maintains and submits a source of business log monthly to leader. 
• Identifies potential clients, performs sales calls, and solicits new business.
• Promotes and participates in the bank's special credit programs and other CRA programs. 
• Actively participates in local business and community activities and maintains close contact with local builders, real estate brokers and agents, clients, and prospects. 
• Responsible for generating treasury management relationships, deposit relationships and fee income for the Bank.
• Has access to confidential information relating to clients and accounts. Protects the privacy and confidentiality of clients, other team members, and work. 

Requirements

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree preferred with a major in Ag Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 0-2 years' experience, strong Ag background required.
