ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

• Attends training sessions and delivers designated instructional models and strategies in reading, mathematics, and/or writing skills to eligible students through utilization of Company materials and educational strategies.
• Develops and maintains individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Ensures supervision of students at all times, including escorting students safely to and from the classroom and parent pick-up spot.
• Establishes and maintains student forms and files as required by the Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
• Attends and documents conferences/meetings/trainings with Company Supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents as required by the Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
• Maintains inventory of educational materials and supplies.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

• Part-Time In-Person
• K-8 Afterschool English Language Arts & Math Instructor
• Location: Kailua, Hawaii, Oahu, Hawaii
• School: Saint John Vianney School
• Schedule: Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs, 2:15p-3:30p with exception of state/federal holidays. Classes take place from 2:30p-3:15p. Instructor must be on campus by 2:15pm and leave no earlier than 3:30p.
• First day of instruction is scheduled for October 16, so instructors will be expected to onboard and receive paid training ASAP.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Teaching and/or tutoring experience required. High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree and teacher's license highly preferred.
• Able to implement evidence based reading and math intervention with students in small groups
• Can develop and implement individualized strategies for students in the intervention program
• Use scripted curriculum to deliver individualized skill-appropriate lessons
• Analyze and interpret reading and math data to support student needs
• Instructor will be assigned one group with students all within two years of age of each other e.g., one group of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.
• Classroom/small setting experience

INFORMATION ABOUT THE ROLE AND SCHOOLWork with the same small group of students (no more than 6 students) throughout the school year on reading and math. Catapult Learning uses a proprietary scripted curriculum, so interventionists should follow the provided teacher lessons and use the resources provided. There is ongoing support and coaching provided by an Oahu-based Program Supervisor. Work with students to develop the foundational skills needed to succeed academically and catch back up to their peers.
HOURLY RATE:

• Hourly Rate: $26 - $32

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must understand that all children can learn.
• Must demonstrate positive and enthusiastic attitude towards internal and external customers.
• Must be flexible.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT / WORKING CONDITIONS:
Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs. Most programs are in school settings.
