Full-time, afternoons/evenings, must have open availability, no weekends or major holidays. Prior experience in the veterinary field is preferred, but we will consider individuals with customer service and/or reception experience in other fields.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with clients and pets in a professional, warm, friendly, compassionate manner.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities throughout the day.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow through.
  • Using a multi-line phone system to process calls.
  • Calmly triaging situations presented by clients to determine proper course of action.
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments and advising clients of any specific instructions needed for their appointment.
  • Checking clients in and out.
  • Processing voicemail and email messages in a timely and professional manner using proper etiquette.
  • Entering information and scanning documents into patient records.
  • Accurately recording communications for doctors and other staff.
  • Preparing and presenting estimates and processing financial transactions.
  • Assisting with prescription refill requests, food purchases, and returns.
  • Coordinating with other staff in a professional, positive, friendly manner always.
  • Ensuring the hospital reception area is clean, orderly, fresh smelling, and pleasant.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service experience: 2+ years
  • Veterinary or other Receptionist experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Outstanding client service skills
  • Reliable with excellent attendance
  • Must have open availability to work any assigned shift Monday through Friday from 7:30a.m. to 10:00p.m., or modifications thereof to meet business needs. Closed weekends and major holidays.
  • Prepared to cover shifts on short notice when needed

Ideal Candidates will also have:

  • Previous experience as a receptionist or customer service representative in the field of veterinary medicine.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
