About the role...

The Afloat Pricing & Inventory Analyst is responsible for gathering data, preparing analysis and making recommendations to the Sr. Director of Afloat TRM to support the generation of net program revenue. Pricing responsibilities include cost analysis, making sell price recommendations, reviewing special offers, monitoring cost changes and working with pricing systems. Inventory responsibilities include analyzing enrollment trends and preparing reporting in accordance with cruise line contract terms. This position is also responsible for the accuracy of dates and prices in all marketing materials and across all costing, pricing and reservation systems. The Analyst will work closely with the Sr. Director of Afloat and other members of Tuition Revenue Management (TRM), Air Operations, Marketing, Programs, Program Services, Contracting and Finance providing analysis and insights to support effective decision making related to the pricing and inventory of Afloat programs.

Road Scholar offers a remote-first work environment. The compensation range for this exempt level salaried position is $55,000 - $60,000. This is a steppingstone Analyst position. 

You will...

  • Program Pricing & Analysis
    • Prepare pricing files, analyze YOY cost changes and make sell price recommendations according to margin guidelines
    • Analyze NPR changes after programs have been priced and based on guidelines evaluate if sell price changes are needed
    • Review special offer reporting and recommend extensions
    • Ensure accurate sell prices in systems and update as needed
  • Inventory Analysis
    • Analyze weekly inventory reporting and enrollment trends and make recommendations for adding and cancelling departures
    • Prepare monthly charter risk reporting and ensure accurate NPR and contract release dates to be analyzed by Sr. Director
    • Process system requests for cancelled departures and work with contact center team as needed on ship changes
    • Recommend date selections to include in all print materials
  • Review of Marketing materials
    • Review all marketing campaigns for print, web and e-mail. Ensure accuracy of pricing, special offers and featured dates
  • Leverage system software to develop standard tools to provide reporting, analysis and manage work flow processes
  • Other duties as needed including Ad-hoc reporting and special projects

You need...

  • Bachelor’s degree required with 1-2 years’ pricing and inventory analysis experience (Travel or Cruise Industry Experience a plus)
  • Must have experience as an analyst or internship experience in an analyst role
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, to include Power Point, Word and Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Attention to Detail; Highly accurate with Strong Organizational Skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently
  • Ability to understand foreign currency translation
  • Strong desire to learn new skills and work as a team player
  • Experience with gathering, manipulation and analysis of large data sets
