DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the design and development efforts for the Space Station and other programs as needed.
• Assist in developing requirements and design criteria.
• Design, develop, test, handle implementation, and provide analysis of technical products and systems.
• Perform design evaluations on engineering solutions considering DFM.
• Produce engineering models and drawings for the manufacturing of test/ground support equipment and flight hardware.
• Prepare and help present designs at various design reviews.
• Produce other required design documentation.
• Able to travel locally between facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Associates Degree in Engineering or related, similar, field required
• BS degree in Engineering or similar field is preferred
• Minimum 3-10 years' experience creating manufacturing drawings with ASME Y14 standards.
• Minimum 8 years' using 3D CAD for drawing creation (SolidWorks preferred)
  
• Experience creating engineering drawings and dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y-14.
• Experience with PDM software such as SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM) or similar.
• Spaceflight hardware design background preferred.
• Experience with Atlassian suite preferred.
• Machining and fitting experience preferred

Essential Functions

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements

• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
• Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

Physical Requirements

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
