As a member of the Flight Sciences Team as Aeronautical Engineer within Lockheed Martin in Marietta, GA, the selected candidate will provide multi-disciplinary support with primary emphasis on Aerodynamic and Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) analysis. The candidate will be expected to develop and maintain aerodynamic databases and occasionally support wind tunnel tests and analysis of flight test data. Candidate will create, implement, and optimize CFD simulations for engineering projects as well as validate CFD models using experimental data. Candidate must be highly motivated and be able to lead teams. This position may require occasional travel.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires a DoD security clearance.

Engineering Aeronautics

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering
• Application of CFD meshing and flow solver tools to solve aerodynamic problems in a parallel, high performance computing environment
• Aerodynamic database generation
• Wind Tunnel Test Experience

Desired Skills:

• Aero/CFD experience in the Supersonic and Hypersonic flow regime
• High Performance Computing (HPC) Knowledge
• Ability to optimize vehicle configurations to meet performance objectives
• Analysis of aircraft performance
• Knowledge of Stability & Control (S&C)
• Computer Programming Skills such as Python or Fortran

Security Clearance Statement:

Ability to Work Remotely:

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
