LOCATION:
EXPERIENCE:
- Seven (7) years assessing, troubleshooting, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance for the alignment, adjustment, removal, and replacement of Lowest Replaceable Units (LRUs) and computer matrix exchange terminals to set up and operate various systems. For example, HF, UHF and satellite voice circuits, teletype circuits, and Data Link 11.
- Networking system management, administration, and maintenance support to the U.S. Navy's Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) AN/USQ-208(V) system.
- SCSC technical positions (those not designated electrical or mechanical engineer positions requiring Professional Engineer certification) on this contract have been set up for cross-training, adopting a variation of the Navy's Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS) program, such that for example the Information Systems Technician is afforded opportunities to train and qualify as a Project Analyst, Audio/Visual Tech, Radar Tech, Computer Network Tech, Communications Tech, Navigation Electronics Tech, Cisco Tech, SSDS Mk2 Maintenance Tech, and Test Director. This cross-training program enables Systems Technicians to invest in their value to the program with a commensurate opportunity for increased compensation.
EDUCATION:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field/discipline; or 4 additional years of demonstrated experience can be substituted for a degree.
- An Associates Degree in a technical or computer related discipline could substitute for two (2) years of experience. For other relevant degrees/education, appropriate education can be counted as experience at a rate of two (2) years of education equals one (1) year of experience for up to four (4) years of experience.

- Must possess a DoD SECRET security clearance.
- Preference is given to candidates who reside in a Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) as determined by the Small Business Administration (see SBA website), of which Wallops Island VA is one such location.
