Job description

Are you passionate about working in an organization that believes in and actively promotes racial and social equity? Are you interested in a career that improves outcomes for underserved or unserved communities? If the answer is yes, WEAVE may be the place for you!

Our Organization:

WEAVE, founded in 1978, is Sacramento’s primary provider of services supporting domestic and sexual violence survivors. The organization offers 24/7 support and response, an emergency safehouse program, counseling, legal services, and much more to some of the most vulnerable members of Sacramento’s many communities. WEAVE has grown significantly in recent years, expanding services and capacity to meet community needs. With diverse programs and an organizational commitment to excellence, WEAVE is leading the way in service standards.

Our mission is to promote safe and healthy relationships and support survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and sex trafficking. Our vision is a community free of violence and abuse.

The Role:
The IDEA Advocate provides trauma-informed, culturally responsive supportive services and prevention activities addressing domestic and sexual violence and sex trafficking for unserved and underserved communities throughout Sacramento County. This position provides individual victims and survivors with emotional support, advocacy, individual case management and crisis intervention (including de-escalation, safety planning, and accessing emergency shelter.) Community focused activities include facilitating educational groups and partnering with Black Child Legacy Campaign Incubator Leads and community-based organizations in high need neighborhoods including Meadowview, Valley Hi, Fruitridge/Stockton, Oak Park, Del Paso Heights, Arden Arcade, and North Highlands.

The position will also play a crucial role in growing the IDEA program, including partnering with WEAVE’s embedded in law enforcement team to foster better outcomes with the criminal justice system and assisting with the development and implementation of services by conducting asset mapping and/or community needs assessments.
Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Our ideal candidate is a deeply committed individual with experience building trusted relationships in underserved and unserved communities, providing supportive services that span from crisis intervention to strengths-based case management, and prioritizing healthy boundaries and confidentiality. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated individual who can work autonomously and as a team to help grow our program. You must be very organized and have excellent time management skills, be able to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with diverse populations, and be comfortable facilitating groups and activities. You must also be open minded and able to hold space for non-judgmental conversation and healing.

Compensation:

The starting pay range for this position is $22.40-$26.34/hr.
