As a Parts Advisor with Audi Napa Valley, you are responsible for accurately and efficiently specifying and filling correct parts for technicians, retail and wholesale customers; at all times providing an exceptional customer experience.

  • Punctual and regular attendance.
  • Handle orders and request for information efficiently via telephone and over-the-counter customers by understanding the manufacturer's parts system and ordering procedures.
  • Responsible for accurately specifying and identifying parts needed to meet customer requirements, so that the number of parts returns due to errors is low.
  • Promote the sale of appropriate parts and accessories by accurately identifying the customer's needs and promoting the benefits of using genuine OEM parts.
  • Maintain accurate sales and inventory records of all invoiced items. Accurately cost out parts and accessories on counter tickets and repair orders.
  • Generate goodwill by greeting and serving every customer anywhere on dealership property courteously and promptly. Listen for and answer phones in an expedient manner.
  • Provide a high level of personal service to internal, wholesale, and retail customers by assisting them in identifying and obtaining needed parts.
  • Establish ongoing support relationships with wholesale customers by answering questions and assisting them in obtaining needed parts.
  • Follow-up on special order items; notify the customer and technician when received.
  • Follow-up the sales process by issuing parts and accessories to technicians and preparing and pulling orders for delivery and will call.
  • Record lost sales due to unavailability of parts.
  • Ability to facilitate online transactions for Parts including, but not limited to Amazon and Ebay.
  • Adhere to QMS/EXCELL guidelines and programs.
  • Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of counters, displays, shelves, bins, and customer contact areas by following good housekeeping procedures.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with peers, Service Advisors, Technicians, Shop Foreman, and other managers to effectively, efficiently, and positively communicate ideas and information.
  • Customer Relations: attentive to customer needs and responsive to customer inquiries where appropriate.
  • Team Effort: demonstrate a concern for meeting team/departmental needs through activities such as accepting overtime, following up on needed parts, helping other technicians, and training apprentices.
  • Practice safe work habits, follow the company's safety policies, and use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.

  • Possess outstanding work ethic.
  • Handle all vehicles with care, keep them clean and take precautions to protect all vehicles at the dealership.

Education, Experience and Certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience as a Parts Counter Person, is preferred.
  • The ability to work independently with limited supervision and the motivation to continually increase product knowledge should be evident.
  • The self-concept of professionals should be coupled with concern for quality service and customer satisfaction.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must possess and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.

  • Visual acuity to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away. Requires extended screen time, including reading and entering information on multiple computer screens.
  • Must be able to sit or stand in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb into and out of cars numerous times each day.
  • Requires frequent reaching, bending, repetitive hand movements, twisting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, sitting, squatting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
  • Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions in both summer and winter.

Work Environment
  • This position operates in a professional dealership environment.
  • Scheduled shifts will be determined by the manager, with rotating shifts throughout the work week.
  • Must maintain a clean, safe working environment at all times.

The Parts Advisor Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of $22.00. The position may also pay commission compensation which is based on the value or amount of closed sales achieved from $0.00 (if no sales are made) without any upper limit other than sales performance. The position also may also pay a production bonus based on individual or team performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any fixed upper limit.
