Responsibilities: General Support and Platform Transition
We are seeking a candidate to provide comprehensive support for CT DMV licensing applications, with a focus on an upcoming initiative involving the replatforming of the mainframe-based licensing system. Proficiency in mainframe platform skills, including CICS, batch analysis, and SOAP web services, is essential. As the licensing system transitions to a new platform, the candidate should possess skills in .NET development and web services. Advanced expertise in developing Restful web services is a key consideration for successful engagement.
Project Refactoring and Ideal Candidate Profile
The impending project involves refactoring a mainframe application to a modern infrastructure. The candidate will play a crucial role in transitioning the legacy mainframe application from CICS, COBOL, VSam to a .NET framework, C#, SQL environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Be proficient in .NET, C#, and SQL.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of CICS, COBOL, VSam to support the legacy system transition.
Possess robust skills in developing RESTful APIs for efficient data exchange between various systems.
Scope of Work: Detailed Requirements
Major Projects and AAMVA-related Assistance:
Provide assistance in major projects, specifically those related to AAMVA.
Web Services Development:
Cross-train to generate web services facilitating communication between in-house and out-of-house applications, potentially residing on a mainframe.
Day-to-Day Support and Responsibilities:
Familiarize yourself with day-to-day support tasks, with the goal of assuming responsibilities such as:
a) Supporting mainframe customer inquiries.
b) Completing ad hoc reporting requests.
c) Analyzing and enhancing existing CICS and batch code to improve processing or resolve issues.
Re-platforming Assistance:
Provide essential assistance in re-platforming mainframe applications to a platform yet to be determined.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $23.00 per hour
